ACA Attorneys Richard D. Ackerman and Michael W. Sands, Jr., are actively involved in evaluating, developing, and promoting improved safety regulations for the sports world.

The firm has an acute interest in mixed martial arts and boxing.  ACA is the only firm experienced in this area of law on a regular basis in Southern California.  These areas of law are constantly evolving and will require creative thinking combined with the unique experience of working with regulatory bodies within the State of California and on the national level.

We look forward to serving the needs of promoters, competitors, coaches, and trainers.  We are confident in our ability to assist in the development of sound policies that are consistent with the expectations of the California State Athletic Commission and in the formation of business entities created for the purpose of serving the boxing and MMA communities.  We assist in the formation of corporations, establishment of nonprofit entities, and in the drafting of articles of incorporation, bylaws, employee policies, nondiscrimination compliance models, and in all other areas of corporate/business governance.

Our primary goal is to encourage participant safety and to promote the sports in a positive way through creative media interaction, sound contract policies and drafting, and conservative regulatory strategy development
